Ayos Bahay Challenge

Let's help re-build homes, re-build lives! It's as easy as A-B-C!

The challenge is: disaster response through shelter repair kits and cleaning kits; and develop disaster resilience through home improvement kits.

Habitat for Humanity Philippines will be distributing shelter repair kits and/or home improvement kits to 25,000 families in identified disaster prone cities and municipalities in the country. Each kit contains tools and  materials that will be used to make homes more resilient to disasters.

The Typhoon Pablo (International name: Bopha) has affected more than one million families. The infrastructure loss of these families is phenomenal. To date, there is a recorded 40,000 homes that were either completely or partially damaged. Through Habitat's Ayos Bahay Challenge, we will be distributing to 15,000 families that were affected by the said typhoon.

Habitat for Humanity will be distributing in Davao del Sur, Compostela Valley, CARAGA region, Cagayan de Oro City, Agusan del Sur, and other affected communities in Mindanao.

The Disaster Response-Ayos Bahay Challenge Shelter Repair Kit will contain:

1. Information of safety in  building;

2. 3 pcs Plywood;

3. 2 pcs 2”x4”x10’ Good Lumber; 

4. 2 pcs 2”x3”x10’ Good Lumber;

5. 4 pcs 2”x2”x10’ Good  Lumber;

6. 3 pcs 10’ Corrugated G.I. Sheets;

7. 0.5 kilos  2 ½” Umbrella Nail;

8. 1 kilo 2” Flexiboard Nails;

9. 0.5  kilo 3” C.W. Nails;

10.0.5 kilo 4” C.W. Nails;

11. 1 pc  Hammer;

12. 1 pc Handsaw; and

13. 1 pc Screwdriver

The Cleaning Kits will contain:

1. 1 pc. Pail;

2. 1 pc. Water dipper;

3. 1 pc. detergent;

4. 1 pc. shovel;

5. 1 pc. mop;

6. 3 pcs. gloves;

7. 1 pc. broom stick;

8. 1 pc. rake
