Dear Friends,
When i visited Odisha villages my heart was overwhelmed looking at the village people and their children on the road , as their houses were either broken or swept away by heavy flood. Still they are looking for help to build houses. The aid comes in peanuts and reaches to few after so many cuts due to corruption and faulty system. Being an INGO associate, its an oppurtunity to work without beaurocratic pressure and unnecessary favours to serve needy. In Bolangir and Kandamal poor tribals were tortured to death due to communal rage however the survivors still donot have roof on their burnt houses. Some have not come back to villages and still get nightmares. In delhi , HFH India works in slums where it is easy to say "dirty surrounding" but difficult to improve teh infrastructure. The basic infrastructure for sewarage system and disposal is so poor to protect the inhabitants from exposure to infections. However, concrete housing solution with sanitation units and water tanks is a wonderful approach. In Bharatpur village of Rajasthan, its heartbreaking that the village peoploe lack even drinking water. My colleague was embarrassed to winess a row of village women relievieng themeselves near the highway, disgusting but they dont have option/resources to build laterines. HFH India helps to build low cost houses with toilets and water harvesting option. In delhi's outskirts HFH India has taken a worth burden to provide shelter to 25 differently able bodied persons. Isnt it great.
Problems are many but togather we can solve it, a drop in the ocean makaes a differenece. Your contribution of even 10 rupees makes a difference.
Houses provide protection, dignity and development to all human kind and nation.
Love and regards,
sophia

I support what she does in my own way to give her time to think for those disadvantaged..asher
