Have been with Habitat, either as an employee, or in spirit for the last 11 years now. I have always been impressed with the selflessness with which Habitat for Humanity has worked to provide over 2 milion people across the world with shelter solutions so that they too can live a life of dignity and hope for the future.
There are two experiences that Habitat offers you that are guaranteed to change your life:
i. A volunteer build experience where you actually work with other volunteers to build a Habitat house along with the partner family that will move into the house and
ii. A chance to speak to any of Habitat's partner families and learn from them how the simple act of providing them a house has changed their lives in so many ways for the better.
Remember, providing a family with a home does not only provide them with shelter. It impacts their health, the education of their children, their economic condition and most importantly, their sense of dignity and self-respect so that they can raise their heads high and take their place with the rest of the world!
Lets rid India of the scourge of poverty housing. You and I and others we drive to this cause can achieve this. Remember, Man Ke Jeete Jeet Hai!
