I'm working to get as many people as possible out to our build sites for May 12th. It's going to be hot, hard work, but the sense of achievement for the builders will be fantastic.
For Youth BUILD 2012 one of the sites where we will be hosting volunteers on May 12th is "Savda Ghevra". This is a resettlement area about 25 km out west from central Delhi. Habitat is building 31 homes for disabled men and women and their families. These people used to live on the streets of South Delhi, sheltering under flyovers and bridges. These new houses have been paid for by a donor, they are in the planning stage and construction will start shortly. Much voluntary labour will be required which is why volunteers who come through Youth BUILD will be very valuable. Please see the pictures I've uploaded - they speak volumes about these people's need for good and secure housing. We want to complete the Savda homes and start more projects like this as soon as we can. We need your energy and your support. Thanks. Dave Ingleby
