Donate to Habitat for Humanity's YouthBuild in India on 12 May 2012! It is a great cause and remember these are our leaders of the future :)

I volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in the United States while at university and after graduating in December 2011 I have come to India. The work that Habitat-India does is truly an inspiration. The problem of homelessness in India is a serious one. There is a housing deficit in India of around 40 million homes, leaving about 200 million Indians homeless. And to top that off it has been estimated that approximately 60% of India's 180 million homes are in dire need of repair or are only temporary homes.

Can you say wow? The number in the USA does not even come close to that. In 2011 there were an estimated 672,000 homeless people in the USA. I know India has more people in it but that does not mean that there should be people living without a roof over their head.

So what is this YouthBuild India? It is not just a day this coming May when there will be thousands of young people in five Asia-Pacific countries come together to build homes. It is also a movement among to encourage 25,000 youth to support Habitat for Humanity's YouthBuild Inda through social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc.) and to then tell their friends to do the same. How easy is that? I made a support page super quickly which means that anyone can do it :)

So show your support for Habitat for Humanity's YouthBuild in India this year!
