The Sentul City Project

Habitat Indonesia Youth BUILD 2012 will take place at Babakan Madang, near Sentul, Jakarta. Three quarters of the population in the area lives below the poverty line. Nutrition levels are low. Opportunities for decent schooling are few. Most homes lack running water, electricity or proper sanitation.

On May 12th 2012, 1,500 Habitat for Humanity volunteers will aim to build 150 homes for families in Sentul, in just one day. The generous support of our volunteers will help 150 families break the poverty cycle, giving them a safe and decent place to live, and will provide volunteers with an opportunity to take a stand against inadequate housing.
